Arris Drops Moxi HD DVR, Moxi Mate, But Won't Scrap Service

Arris dropped the Moxi HD DVR and Moxi Mate, folding features from the products into the Moxi Gateway and player as part of its whole home system, the company said. The Moxi Gateway is a triple play platform sold through cable operators and it wasn’t clear which features have been added. The Moxi products were dropped because of "declining demand," an Arris spokesman said. While the Moxi website initially listed the service as ending on Dec. 31, 2013, Arris replaced the statement in maintaining that there are "currently no plans to discontinue the service." The move to drop the products came as Collins Stewart upgraded Arris’ stock earlier this month to a $11-$15 price range. While Moxi revenue was short of $25 million in Q4, ...
