Thailand Floods Hurt Amazon’s Q4 Electronics Sector, CFO Says

Amazon "saw some impact" on revenue from its Electronics and Other General Merchandise (EGM) division in Q4 ended Dec. 31 due to the Thailand floods, Chief Financial Officer Thomas Szkutak said in an earnings call, but didn't say how much impact there was. Amazon shares closed 7.7 percent lower at $179.46.
The Thailand flooding "certainly impacted some supply," but "the good news" was that Amazon "had some good" offerings from third-party retailers who sell products at Amazon.com "in many ... subcategories," Szkutak said.
