8 in 10 Women Have Interest in Buying CE Products, CEA Says


Eight in 10 women have an interest in CE products, CEA said in a study, up 10 percent from a 2007 survey.  Although men continue to outspend women when it comes to electronics, the gap is narrowing, with men on average spending $728 on CE purchases in the past 12 months, compared with women at $667, CEA said.  In the 2007 study on women's role in CE purchasing, men outspent women by $200, CE said.  Women's influence in CE purchases remains strong as 61 percent of women initiate or are involved in CE purchase processes, CEA said.  Men and women both cited price as the most important criterion when shopping for a CE product, according to the study, with ease of use, warranty and multiple functionality as ...
